What is MechanicDesk?
MechanicDesk is management software for mobile mechanics and independent garages. It runs the whole job — bookings, digital vehicle inspections, photo checklists, invoices and branded PDFs — across web, an installable PWA, and native iOS and Android apps.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Records are stored on the device first, so you can log jobs, complete inspections and build invoices without a connection. The hosted app also installs as a PWA with a cached offline fallback, and syncs hosted actions when you reconnect.
Can I create invoices and PDFs?
Yes. You can build invoices from a job with line items, VAT and live totals, then generate branded PDF invoices and inspection forms carrying your business details, logo and bank information — ready to print, share or email.
What kinds of inspections are included?
MechanicDesk ships versioned templates for pre-condition checks, maintenance logs, post-diagnosis, handovers and vehicle health checks. Each supports icon-coded checklists, Yes/No service checks, per-row photos, tyre tread depths and vehicle-diagram marks. On Pro you can import a customer's own PDF or image template.
Is my data locked in?
No. You can export and import structured JSON at any time with a conflict-aware merge-or-replace preview, and optionally back up to a hosted or shared organisation snapshot. Your records stay yours.
Can my team use it together?
Team foundations ship today: create an organisation, invite members by email link, control member access, enforce paid seat limits, publish shared calendar feeds and save shared snapshots with activity history. Full role-based access control is on the roadmap.
Which devices does it run on?
MechanicDesk runs in any modern browser, installs as a PWA, and ships as native iOS and Android apps built with Capacitor — all sharing the same product model so a job looks identical everywhere.
